Scholten Construction Inc. is set to begin construction of a 5,900-square-foot under air, five-bedroom, six-and-a-half bath move-in ready estate residence in Talis Park’s Prato neighborhood.
Designed by PDS Architecture of Fort Myers, the Spanish style Casa El Nido two-story residence will be built on a south facing homesite that showcases Prato’s signature long range golf course and water views. Construction is anticipated to begin in 30 days with completion scheduled in approximately 10 months. Pricing for the move-in ready residence will be announced when construction commences.
In keeping with the home’s Spanish architectural style, the exterior of the Casa El Nido will feature rustic functional shutters with a dark stain, arched mahogany entry doors, dark cypress soffits and fascia, exposed trusses and large corbels. The exterior walls will be finished with a sprayed granular stucco. Andersen window and doors will be used throughout the home.
The interior of the home is designed to convey a grand, traditional sensibility with beautifully executed architectural ceiling details complimented by the use of selected modern elements, including a stainless steel and glass stairway treatment that will play against dark-toned wood treads. Lighter toned hardwood flooring will be used downstairs.
Upon entry to the home, a light-filled parlour with a fireplace and French doors opening to the outside will greet visitors. A formal dining room will include a large wine room. The gourmet island kitchen is designed to provide an abundance of work space for the most discriminating chef and includes a large pantry. The family room offers another gathering place that can be opened to the outside.
The Casa El Nido’s massive outdoor living area will be positioned for the view. The covered lanai will feature a large sitting area with a fireplace and television, a dining area, an island bar and an outdoor kitchen with a grill, refrigerator and sink. A custom designed pool will be finished to convey the look of Caribbean-blue water. Residents will enjoy sunsets from a raised fire pit area overlooking the fairways of Talis Park’s Greg Norman-Pete Dye designed golf course and a lake.
An office off the master suite will provide a private retreat removed from the home’s living areas. The master suite includes a master bedroom overlooking Casa El Nido’s views and a master bath with a double vanity, a free-standing white tub and 24-inch white and gray Calcutta tile.
The home’s upstairs can be accessed either by the stairway or elevator. A large play room will offer a place to watch television and to entertain younger family members. Two en suite guest bedrooms with walk-in closets include double French doors that open to a covered terrace that flows into a large sun deck. The terrace and sun deck can also be accessed through double French doors at the south end of the upstairs’ central hallway.
“Since purchasing Talis Park in 2011, a central cornerstone of Kitson & Partners’ strategy has been the notion that ‘design matters,’” said Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing John Hillman. “As a result, Talis Park reflects the timeless character of Spanish, Italian Renaissance and Caribbean architectural styles. The Casa El Nido will offer a beautiful compliment to the community’s diverse offering of estate homes, villa neighborhoods and the just released Carrara condominium neighborhood that are priced from the mid-$700s into the millions. We are very excited and pleased to welcome Tom and Regina Scholten and the entire team at Scholten Construction Inc. to Talis Park and to our group of highly accomplished participating builders.”
After establishing themselves as one of the Chicago area’s preferred builders, Tom and Regina Scholten relocated to Southwest Florida in 1998 and opened Scholten Construction Inc. in 2001. Since then, the firm has been acknowledged as one of the area’s premier builders and has completed custom luxury residences in Naples’ most prestigious neighborhoods. To ensure its rigid quality standards and completion deadlines are met, Scholten maintains its own full time group of accomplished craftsmen.
“Having our own craftsmen allows us to control our own destiny as far as quality and on-time completion are concerned,” said Scholten Construction Inc. President Tom Scholten. “We specialize in crafting luxurious residences for highly discerning clients and the people who work with us share our very high standards. Talis Park shares those standards as well. We are thrilled to be building in Prato and to be working in a community that clearly has a unique sense of vision.”
Talis Park’s Prato neighborhood is a secluded enclave offering enhanced privacy and some of the most spectacular golf, water and preserve views in the community.
