According to the Vanderbilt Beach Residents Association, Vanderbilt Beach received its name to add an air of prestige. However, we believe the beauty of the beach speaks for itself! Learn more about Vanderbilt Beach and what makes it such a special place in the hearts of Naples’ residents:
The History of Vanderbilt Beach
In the 1950s, Vanderbilt Beach was a rather wild area. It sat in the middle of a scrub oak habitat, surrounded by mangrove stands and lagoons. However, in the mid-1950s developer, J.B Conners began to create a residential community in the area. By the 1970s, a building boom saw the area surrounding the beach grow and grow. Luckily, public parks and access pathways protected the gorgeous beach and have kept it looking as gorgeous and accessible as it is today.
Vanderbilt Beach Today
Today, Vanderbilt beach is one of the most popular beaches in the Naples area— and there is a good reason why! This 5-acre beach park has gorgeous white sand and crystal-clear waters. It’s also close to all the action in North Naples, making it a perfect spot to sunbathe in the sunny Florida weather, before eating at a fabulous downtown restaurant or shopping in the area.
The Best Way to Enjoy Vanderbilt Beach
While the beach itself is gorgeous, the community surrounding Vanderbilt beach can feel quite congested and cramped. Rather than looking for homes next to the beach, it’s possible to find a home that has fantastic Vanderbilt Beach access yet also has plenty of room to stretch out.
For example, The Talis Park community offers a variety of gorgeous homes, with beautifully manicured lawns and expansive views of lakes, ponds, and the golf course. Additionally, this community features quick and easy transportation to and from Vanderbilt beach throughout the day. On-demand beach shuttle trips in the luxury Mercedes Sprinter begin at 10 am and continue until 30 minutes after sunset.
Along with the beach shuttle, Talis Park also offers a special beach-side menu and complimentary beach chairs, towels, and water once you arrive.
